osx86 on Fujitsu st5112 (1st attempt) - received

My toys finally came. The RAM purchased was bad, so I can use the 1 gig it came with and I had a 1/2 gig laying around that worked, and the great deal on the external DVD/DL burner was no great deal at all, thing fried as soon as I plugged it in. I've got windows 7 running on it now as we speak, have yet to install the intel 5100 wireless N PCIe module as it will require some additional fitting. It has been an exceptionally long wait but Im' happy so far. I'll begin the osxing soon. The screen is in great shape, and it's very fast and responsive. I've got the 64bit version of windows 7 as it's possible with the U7600 processor, although Fujitsu only provides drivers for 32 bit Windows 7, so I'm using the Vista Drivers, so far so good except the tablet buttons are being obstinate. I'll write more when I begin the hackintosh

Anybody notice something missing from Samsung?s Q2 results?Hint: it was the phone/tablet sales data. But why? Well, accordingto Samsung?s ?new information policy?, phones and tabletsdata will heretofore remain a secret. ?As competitionintensifies, there are increased risks that the information weprovide may adversely affect our own business,? said Samsung?sinvestor relations boss Robert Yi on the Q2 conference call.

I’m sure this has nothing to do with their tablet sales being embarrassingly weak.

Horace Dediu finds that “smartphones”, overall, have stopped growing in sales. Nokia’s and RIM’s are down, only Apple’s, Samsung’s, and HTC’s are up:

The fact that not all vendors benefit from a boom indicates thatthe early, happy days are over. People are noticing that there isa difference between smartphones and are not buying any and all.
