The folks over at Lumosity are serious about the brain. Some of the leading neuroscientists in the world have come together to create a brain fitness program to improve your brain’s health and performance. Although the full Lumosity brain training program involves many other online games and costs $6.60 to $9.95 per month, their new Speed Brain iPhone app costs only $0.99 and will help keep your brain in tip-top shape!

The concept is simple: you’re shown a series of pictures and asked if each one matches the one before it. If you get it right, your score goes up. If you get it wrong, your iPhone or iPod touch vibrates to let you know. If you can answer fast enough you can earn bonus points for speed. And when you’re done, you will have hopefully flexed your brain enough to improve your processing speed and reaction time. My first time through I scored a pathetic 840, but after getting a handle of the concept I was able to chalk up a 5,190 on my second try.

If you have a lot of application in your dock and want them seperated from each other there is a quick and easy way to do it. Open Terminal and type in:
defaults write com.apple.dock persistent-apps -array-add ‘{tile-data={}; tile-type=”spacer-tile”;}’
Do this for as many spacers as you would like. Then open Activity Monitor and and quit the dock. Once the dock restarts you will see a spacer in your dock.
You can reposition/remove these spacers just like any application in the dock. If you would like to put a spacer in the stacks use this command line:
defaults write com.apple.dock persistent-others -array-add ‘{tile-data={}; tile-type=”spacer-tile”;}
There you have it! Enjoy!
