Protection finds the IP address of the thief's Internet connection. Just send it to the police, and they'll be able to find the postal address of the thief. Protection takes photos of the thief. So, it's easier for the police to find him back. The application also takes a screen capture of your Mac at a regular intervals. So, the user can follow what's the thief's doing and learn more about him. Protection hides private data, such as mails, contacts, calendars and instant messaging data.

Milan-based Infinite Labs today announced their winter line-up by releasing Mover 3.0, an update to the critically acclaimed iPhone data transfer app. Version 3.0 adds video transfer support. Infinite Labs also releases a new version of their popular Afloat system extender that works on Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard. Afloat adds useful features to most Mac apps, such as "always on top", window transparency, "pinning" windows to the desktop and more.

Nilay Patel on the Droids Software Keyboard

The iPhone’s use of multi-touch for its software keyboard is a key factor in its success. That the Droid doesn’t use it for its keyboard is a perfect example of how important it is for Google to add multi-touch to the standard Android system UI. It’s nice that the APIs are there for third-party developers to support multi-touch gestures in their apps, but the keyboard is a standard component used by every app on the system.

Update: Now I’m hearing that the Droid’s keyboard does support multi-touch in some fashion, but just not in the “press another key while still holding down the previous one” fashion that Patel demos.
