Repair Permissions Is Not a Recommended Step When
Applying System Updates

To be clear, perfectly clear: Apple does not recommend that you dothis. All you need to do before applying a system update is followthe steps in the accompanying release notes, and nowhere therein hasit ever been mentioned that you should run Disk Utility’s RepairPermissions feature before or after installing the update, let alonedoing so before and after.

Setting the iTunes Bookmarkable Bit via Automator

How do I use automator or applescript to add an mp3 to the iTunes playlist and also set the "bookmarkable" and "no shuffle" option. The Run Applescript action on automator doesn't seem to work, though the following script snippet works fine in iTunes:tell application "iTunes" set bookmarkable of selection to "True" set shufflable of selection to "False"end tell
