As part of our dedication to covering the mobile ecosystem, we write a lot about apps here at GigaOM. But starting this week I’m going to be doing video reviews of iOS apps we really like and think you should check out.

We’re kicking things off with an app that’s part of a category very near to my heart: travel. This week I take you on a quick trip with Triposo, a free app for the iPhone. It’s a location-based app that has travel guides available for 8,000 locations around the world. I tried out Triposo during a recent weekend excursion. Here’s what I found.
