Dustin Curtis:
Usually, when I am curious about something Apple has done, I tryto understand the design thinking that went into the decision. Inthis case, I can’t think of a rational reason for why Apple hasnot placed any protections on Address Book in iOS. It makes nosense. It is a breach of my privacy, and it has allowed every appI’ve installed to steal my address book.
I understand that Apple doesn’t want us to be badgered by too many permission-granting alerts, but address book data is sensitive enough to warrant it, in my opinion. Why not treat it like they do location data?
