Nondestructively Resizing Volumes

The recent release of 10.4.6 brought about a new feature required for Boot Camp to do its magic - nondestructively resizing volumes. Apple updated the diskutil tool by adding the resizeVolume verb. Let's have a little fun, shall we? I have a 100GB USB drive, but I really want it partitioned into three volumes. The following is highly suspected to be functional only on Intel Macs.

The Finder doesn't really like you toying with diskutil on your own. If at any point the realities of the file system aren't reflected in the Finder, refresh disk arbitration with disktool -r and things should become sane again. When messing with partition tables, though, it's sometimes necessary to unmount, eject, and reattach the drive to get things properly refreshed.
